We usually meet bi-monthly on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 7:00 pm at the Boonsboro Ruritan Youth Association at 1499 Coffee Road, Lynchburg, Virginia 24503. These meeting not only are held to discuss the business of the club but may offer educational speakers to its members. Everyone is invited to attend our meetings and we look forward to seeing you.
Informal Practice Sessions for Conformation, Obedience and Rally are held on Wednesday nights from 7:30 to 8:30 pm at the Boonsboro Ruritan Youth Association at 1499 Coffee Road, Lynchburg, Virginia 24503. James River Kennel Club sponsors two all-breed shows in conjunction with the Roanoke Kennel Club and New River Valley Kennel Club in early August at the Salem Civic Center in Salem, Virginia. During this show circuit the Club sponsors a Canine Good Citizen Test and conducts an Eye, Heart and Semen Evaluation Clinic. All proceeds from the Health Clinics go to the respective Departments at the Virginia-Maryland Regional Veterinary School in Blacksburg, Virginia. The club also sponsors three All Breed Obedience and three All Breed Rally Trials in mid- September at the Boonsboro Ruritan Youth Association at 1499 Coffee Road, Lynchburg, Virginia 24503.
The club has been a supporter of the Lynchburg Special Olympics annually since the mid 1970’s, providing the Olympians a chance to meet different breeds and take home a photo of them with their special dog.
